Southern Women's is committed to changes which improve women's position and health both at the individual and the community level.
Services Available
- Counselling and referrals on a wide range of issues
- through Yarning Time for Aboriginal women Tuesday - Thursday on a 'drop in' basis
- Quick Support: Monday, Wednesday 2-4pm and Thursday 10am-12pm - appointments made on the day by phoning (08) 8384 9555
- Assessment and care planning for Chronic Condition Self Management and
- Ongoing counselling
- Health Information
- Advocacy for housing support and Domestic Violence Risk and Safety Reports (requires referral from the Police) - Thursday mornings by appointment
- Drop-in pregnancy testing and needle exchange
- Aboriginal Health Program includes individual and family support through Yarning Time, links and referrals to health and community sevices
- Lesbian Health Program - information/support group, community activities library
- A group and community work program each term, for example Domestic Violence Support Group, groups for women survivors of child sexual abuse, Well Women's Group, Whole Women;Weight and Health, Community Sisters, personal skill development....and other group on request
- Breast Cancer Support Group (1-3pm, 1st Wednesday of the month)
- Natural Therapies information sessions
- Stretching and relaxation sessions
- Resource Room for study & reading - computer available and includes a women's health library
- Domestic Violence Action Group
- Outreach appointments from Women's Legal Services (WLS) alternate Friday mornings. Bookings via WLS on (08) 8231 8929
