New edition of Treat Yourself Right booklet

An updated version of the Treat Yourself Right: Information for Women with HIV/AIDS booklet is now available from the HIV Women’s project.

It is widely acknowledged that gender differences can make a significant difference to the natural history of HIV infection, to how it is best treated and to the range of side effects experienced by women. There are also a number of issues such as pregnancy, breast feeding and cervical cancer which are unique to women.

The 3rd edition of Treat Yourself Right contains health information for women living with HIV, who may read it because they have been newly diagnosed, may have known about their diagnosis for some time or may want to keep up-to-date on new developments in treatments, clinical trials and health issues that are specific to women with HIV.

The booklet will also assist health care providers and community workers.
This resource has been re-developed by the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations (AFAO), in close collaboration with the Australasian Society of HIV Medicine (ASHM) and the National Association of People Living with HIV/AIDS (NAPWA) Women’s Network.
